Round 5 Challenges
The Lloyd's Register Safety Accelerator is delighted to be working with PepsiCo, Phillips 66, and DCP Midstream, for our fifth round of safety and risk Innovation Challenges.
Detecting safety risks and hazards in industrial environments, from marine to energy, to food, to infrastructure is critical in protecting people's health and well being, as well as safeguarding the asset and the environment. New and emerging technologies are enabling innovative ways of sensing, identifying, understanding and managing a variety of these safety risks, from human factors to operational issues.
The Lloyd’s Register Safety Accelerator is actively seeking proposals from companies with innovative digital ideas to address this Challenge Round, focused on developing new methods to detect and manage a variety of safety risks, to improve safety of life and assets across industries. Successful applicants will not only benefit from trial funding but also the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading corporate challenge partners to accelerate development of their technologies and open up new markets.
The Safety Accelerator is seeking solutions that have the potential to address safety challenges across a wide commercial market. Successful applicants will be awarded the opportunity to trial their proposed solution with the industry challenge partners, for approximately 3 months, in a live industry environment.

The Safety Accelerator is run in partnership with Plug and Play Tech Centre, the largest global innovation platform and most active venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. Plug and Play are currently sourcing innovative safetytech solutions from their network of ground-breaking global startups, to solve these important safety and risk challenges.
Successful Round 5 startups, who will go on to pilot their solutions with PepsiCo, Phillips 66, DCP Midstream and Lloyd's Register, are expected to be announced in January 2020.
