For independent certification advisors, there is a role to play in helping the food supply chain analyze, contextualize and apply lessons held in its data.

The technological tools to support a supply chain-wide distribution of predictive practices are available but the quality of data in the food supply chain is just now developing.

Data-driven intelligence that identifies trends to predict events, such as food contamination and crop failures are not widely used, some of the reasons are:
