Optimised project financing through to reduced technical risk
AW-Energy is the developer of the world-leading wave-energy converter, WaveRoller™. This novel technology delivers emission-free, renewable energy by converting ocean waves to electricity. Wave movements are captured by a hinged panel that runs a generator. This technology also has a low visual impact on the environment.
The client’s ambition is to locate WaveRoller™ in Peniche, Portugal, in the nearshore area at depths of between 8 and 20 meters. The device will be connected to the grid once deployed and fully operating. To help get this innovative project up-and-running, our client asked us to review the prototype design and fabrication work carried out by its team.
