Overview

First Wind's Stetson Wind project in Maine has been operational since 2008. Here's how SGC Engineering helped make it happen.

 

How we helped

SGC selected a route for the 38-mile transmission line and ultimately secured all easements or purchases of the land for construction. SGC completed the ISO interconnection study and assisted with negotiations and technical support of the Large Generator Interconnection Agreement with the utility. The electrical group designed and supported construction of the collector system, the substation, and the transmission line. The construction management group ensured compliance with all permit requirements through very demanding and environmentally sensitive areas during this phase of the project. The Stetson Project was completed and went online in December 2008.

SGC provided survey services for the 38 mile corridor and project area, developing record documents for land transactions and assisting client by providing an ALTA/ACSM Title survey for the project together with plans for the transmission corridor. Survey assisted with construction layout of clearing limits and corridor structures, and worked with the client and contractors to help meet the aggressive construction schedule.
