While the regulation for certifying new-build offshore containers is clear, in-service inspection procedures are not.

Offshore containers require inspections at one-year and four-year intervals to make sure they're still safe to use.

In the interest of a safer industry, Lloyd's Register has developed robust in-service inspection procedures for offshore containers. These procedures address intermediate and periodic inspections, frame inspection procedures, maximum acceptable deformations, container in-service inspection criteria, sling sets, and reporting requirements.

Through the release of these procedures, we continue our 250+ year-mission to make society safer through the advancement of rules, standards, research, and technology.
