About the event
Taking place across London, and featuring a number of events, London International Shipping Week highlights London’s key role on the international maritime stage, and the strength and breadth of the UK’s maritime offering.
Our exclusive events
10 September - Financing a Zero-Carbon Future forum
World-leading shipping banks in June introduced the Poseidon Principles, a pioneering set of principles that integrate climate considerations into lending decisions. They aim to incentivise shipping’s decarbonisation, a critical step to reduce global warming. The forum will explore the role that ship finance can play in decarbonisation and whether initiatives such as the Poseidon Principles will influence shipowner and charterer behaviour and how changing funding criteria could affect other maritime stakeholders.
12 September - Lloyds Register and Carbon Trust Future Fuels workshop
Working in partnership with Carbon Trust this workshop will bring together key experts from across maritime to discuss options and outlooks on the future fuels for shipping to achieve full decarbonisation by 2050, with a focus on energy carriers and their pathways to commercialisation.
