Round 3 Innovation Challenges.

Innovative Risk Detection Methods

Summary

We are looking for innovative digital solutions addressing three new innovation challenges, to detect, communicate and manage complex industry risks.

Round 3 Overview

Potential dangers exist within any sector and in order to manage them, detection and prevention is key. Unexpected hazards affect the safety and security of the energy, marine and food industries daily. Ensuring human safety is paramount, as well as safeguarding the asset and the environment. Innovative technologies are transforming and prioritising how we address safety, by predicting in real-time, or close to real time, potential threats or dangers. These detection technologies provide us with invaluable data, relaying the potential threat to safety to the correct team as soon as it occurs, therefore preventing real dangers from arising.

The Lloyd’s Register Safety Accelerator is looking for innovative proposals from startup companies with applicable digital solutions. These technologies must be capable of addressing one of the three innovation challenges for this round, themed around detecting risks to life and assets in energy, marine or food industries. Trial funding will be awarded to successful applicants, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading corporate challenge partners. Selected technologies will benefit from accelerated development and exposure to lucrative new markets. Partners for this challenge round are: Shell, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, and Benugo.

We are seeking solutions that may appeal to a wide commercial market. Successful applicants will be expected to trial their proposed solutions with the industry challenge partners, for approximately 3 months.
