LR Supports World Accreditation Day 2017.

The theme of this year’s World Accreditation Day, which takes place on 9 June, is ‘Accreditation: Delivering Confidence in construction and the built environment’; including health and safety, environmental protection, inspection of materials and innovation.

“The construction and built environment sector affects us all. Whether it’s the homes we live in, buildings we work in, or the roads we drive on, we expect them to be safe, secure and sustainable. Knowing that the processes and materials have been certified or inspected by an accredited body gives an extra level of confidence. Accreditation gives you the assurance that the certification or inspection process meets the requirements of the relevant standard and that the assessment has been carried out impartially by a competent person.” commented Denis Ives, Technical and Quality Director at LRQA and Lloyd’s Register, Inspection Services.

World Accreditation Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation. It was jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). Further information, research and case studies on the value of accreditation to the construction sector are available at www.publicsectorassurance.org
