Nuclear power plant

PSAM 14, Los Angeles

The 14th PSAM conference took place in September 2018 in Los Angeles, California. LR's nuclear energy experts took part.

The PSAM 14 conference took place in September 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Held every two years, the event brings together experts from various industries and aims to cross-fertilize methods, technologies and ideas for the benefit of all.

Anders Olsson, LR’s Global Nuclear Director said, “It is always a great pleasure to participate in the PSAM conference, this time at UCLA in Los Angeles. As always, we met with a lot of friends and shared our work in terms of methodology development and, as always, we received very valuable feedback from the community.”

“Another good thing about the PSA conferences is that you get a feel for what are the “hot topics” for the PSA community today. There were many sessions about Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) and as during the previous PSAM in Seoul (2016) the interest in Multi-Unit Risk Assessment is noticeable. Another topic that continuous to draw a lot of attention is External Hazards - which of course is a natural consequence of the Fukushima accident (as well as the interest in Multi-Unit Risk Assessment).”

Johan Sörman, RiskSpectrum Software Sales Director, said: “From a RiskSpectrum perspective, this conference is particularly important to us as it is our chance to show that we are at the very forefront of risk analyses method development, and it’s a great opportunity to meet with our clients at the same time. We were delighted to see that RiskWatcher continues to deliver a range of key benefits and is highly regarded by users and non-users alike."
