Revised aerospace quality standards ready to takeoff.

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has now published AS9110:2016 and AS9120:2016, completing the revision of the AS91xx series of standards.

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has now published AS9110:2016 and AS9120:2016. This completes the revision of the core Aerospace Standards and represents the revised quality standard for aviation, defence and space organisations.

The revision has incorporated essential changes made to international quality management system standard ISO 9001:2015 and additional Aerospace, Space and Defence stakeholder requirements.  This will ultimately drive effective operations in increasingly complex environments. Organisations currently certified to AS9100/9110/9120 will need to successfully switch to the relevant 2016 revision by September 2018.

Gary Proctor, LRQA Aerospace Technical Manager, commented, “The publication of AS9110:2016 and AS9120:2016 completes the issue of the revised standards. The revised standards feature a number of inclusions designed to ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This will allow our many global clients to operate with full confidence in their Quality Management System, which in turn will lead to improved satisfaction amongst both internal and external stakeholders.”

With some of the world’s leading standards being revised, LR is at the forefront of communicating the changes. We offer a range of assessment services as well public and in-house training courses, all aimed at helping to ensure that organisations worldwide have a smooth transition to the new standards.

Please note that as of January 2018, we have moved to the Lloyd's Register brand and retired the LRQA name.
