Biography
Shane Balani is Decarbonisation Consultant in the LR Maritime Decarbonisation Hub, currently based in Singapore.
Shane’s first exposure to the maritime world was whilst serving in the Royal Navy Reserve whilst reading Mechanical Engineering. Since joining LR 5 years ago, he has worked in a number of hand-on engineering and survey roles, including as a new construction site surveyor for the flagship Heavy-lift offshore vessel “SLEIPNIR” and most recently as an existing ship surveyor in the busy port of Singapore, managing classification aspects of ship repairs, retrofitting projects and docking surveys.
