Mai is based in Houston and is our Global Events & Campaign Manager. She builds out the global event plan for our energy part of the business as well as executing delivery of global events. She is the go-to person for all event enquiries and works with marketing leads to develop campaign programs. She recently developed an events app that won an award at the American Marketing Association's Crystal Awards.
Why did you join?
I started with LR in my early career as a temp in September 2013 as a business support specialist for the inspection services business. Six months later I was hired full-time. Two main reasons I joined were: I wanted a healthy work-life balance and I supported LR’s mission statement, “Working together for a safer world.”
Why did you stay?
LR has a great online learning repository. I achieved my 30 classroom hours towards my project management certification at no cost through this system. This is just an example of the resources available in LR to progress in your career as long as you stay curious, make efforts to increase your knowledge, and think outside the box. There is opportunity for growth in LR and making that journey with the guidance and support from your colleagues is very rewarding. Luckily, there are strong leaders and mentors in the industry at LR who share their experiences and welcome the success of others. Because of these individuals, I remain optimistic and motivated to do the best I can in support of the business.
What is your favourite thing about LR?
I love that LR is owned by a foundation. I’m happy to know that the company’s efforts contribute towards higher education, increasing technological research, and other developmental projects. The world is constantly changing and it’s satisfying to be part of an organisation that has the history and influence to drive its direction.
