We are authorised to act on behalf of numerous flag administrations to verify that your vessels comply with the BWM Convention. Our involvement ranges from initial plan approval and on-board surveys, and also issue of type approval certification for Ballast Water Treatment Systems.

ISM Code
We carry out ISM certification on behalf of more than 60 flag administrations. Since the Code was introduced, we have been at the forefront of developments in its interpretation and implementation, leading in the provision of innovative and cost-effective certification and support services.

We have played a proactive role in helping the industry to implement the ISPS Code and offers a full range of statutory certification services to help you maintain compliance. We also offer a series of ISPS training courses.
MARPOL
LR is authorised to act on behalf of numerous flag administrations to verify that your vessels comply with MARPOL. Our involvement ranges from initial plan approval and on-board surveys to annual and renewal surveys to ensure compliance is maintained. We are also able to issue type approval certification for marine pollution prevention equipment and sewage treatment plants.
MARPOL Annex II and the IBC Code
Carriage of liquid chemicals in bulk is covered by regulations in SOLAS Chapter VII, which invokes the IBC Code, and MARPOL Annex II - Regulations for the Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk. MARPOL Annex II certification is also required for certain liquefied gases when carried in bulk. LR is authorised to act on behalf of numerous flag administrations to verify that your vessels comply with the applicable requirements.
SOLAS

We are also able to issue type approval certification for safety equipment.
The International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code
Carrying solid bulk cargoes involves serious risks, which must be managed carefully to safeguard the crew and the ship. The main legislation governing safe carriage of solid bulk cargoes is the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code, which became mandatory on January 1, 2011, under the SOLAS Convention.
EU MRV Regulation and the IMO DCS
LR is an accredited third-party verifier for EU MRV and a Recognised Organisation (RO) for IMO DCS. When you submit your data to us we can carry out the necessary checks and verification procedures and issue the respective certifications to keep onboard for inspection by Port State Control.
