Lloyd's Register organises training courses in PSA (probabilistic Safety Assessment) and RiskSpectrum software user courses.
The Lloyd's Register Nuclear Academy offers a comprehensive training programme in nuclear safety for all young and experienced consultants and engineers working within the nuclear sector. The programme includes an introductory course, an advanced course, and a range of specialised PSA training modules, including Seismic PSA and Human reliability analysis.
Introduction to Seismic PSA
Seismic PSA Training – 2 days
The course is tailored for nuclear power plant operators and regulators and is relevant for PSA practitioners who analyze how seismic activity could affect risks at nuclear power plants.
The objectives of this course are to give the participants an understanding of:
- Elements of seismic PSA model
- Basics of Seismic PSA input data, e.g. derivation of fragility curves
- How seismic PSA model can be developed in RiskSpectrum PSA and RiskSpectrum HazardLite.
Primary topics are:
- How is a seismic PSA model developed and organized in RiskSpectrum PSA?
- How is it related to the existing PSA model for internal initiating events?
- How are seismic hazard and fragility data input into the PSA model?
- How is seismic risk (in terms of CDF) quantified with RiskSpectrum PSA?
