Overview

This two day course will introduce the delegates to Operational Modal Analysis, especially to systems with harmonic components, such as rotating machinery. This will be achieved by combining theory and laboratory exercises. Numerous case studies from the Marine and Energy business will be presented.

Differences and similarities between operational modal analysis and experimental modal analysis
Introduction to frequency domain decomposition (FDD) techniques
Introduction to stochastic subspace identification (SSI) techniques
How to apply the co-variance driven SSI technique to industrial problems
Experiments: comparing FDD, SSI and EMA

Experiments: influence of harmonic components, rotating machinery
