This three-day course provides hands-on experience in using RulesCalc software to perform prescriptive checks required by the Lloyd’s Register Rules for Classification of Ships.

The course will be delivered through a series of presentations and guided practical exercises.

RulesCalc helps to ensure compliance with LR rules in initial design stage. The transparent intermediate results provide extra assurance, enabling you to accelerate modelling and assessment.

  • Entering ship details

  • Creating materials and stiffener profiles

  • Defining loading conditions

  • Modelling transverse sections

Day 2

  • Assessing longitudinal strength

  • Local scantlings of longitudinal structures

  • Buckling assessment

  • Modelling and assessing transverse structures

Day 3

  • Checking scantlings in aft/fore regions and machinery spaces

  • Optimising scantlings

  • Comparing RulesCalc models

  • Creating RulesCalc reports

A workable example will be used to help attendees to consolidate their knowledge in loading, global and local strength assessments and machinery checks.
