We are seeking individuals who can conduct plan approval of hull structure in accordance with LR Rule and relevant international regulation. The ideal candidate should possess the necessary procedures, experience, and knowledge to effectively appraise and assess plans related to these aspects for new building projects, as well as conversions and in-service vessels.

The role 

  • Conduct comprehensive plan approval of hull structure and hull outfittings, adhering to Lloyd's Register Rules & Regulations, Statutory Regulations, and International Standards.
  • Stay updated with revisions to Statutory, Rule, and Flag requirements, ensuring their proper implementation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, fostering effective communication channels.
  • Engage in technical discussions and provide expert advice to both internal and external clients.
  • Present and discuss deliverables with both internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary.
  • Carry out activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

What you bring 

  •  A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or a related field, along with a Chartered/Professional qualification and active membership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Extensive experience in offshore or marine hull structure design or appraisal, gained from various roles such as shipyards, classification societies, ship owners, designers, and manufacturers.
  • Essential experience and knowledge in marine engineering, with a particular emphasis on hull structure design or appraisal.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance systems and material properties is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, adept at prioritizing tasks, meeting both Lloyd's Register and client deadlines, and performing effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage in technical discussions with clients and maintain positive client relationships, with a client-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the requirements of the work, along with effective interpersonal skills.

Preferred but not required:

  • Classification Society experience preferred.
