What we’re looking for
Lloyd’s Register is looking for an experienced Offshore Surveyor who has technical background in structural, piping, and mechanical areas and solid familiarity with offshore coating and painting inspections. The ideal candidate will have practical experience delivering IVB (Independent Verification Body) services and ensuring the integrity and reliability of offshore assets.
This role involves supporting major offshore projects, engaging directly with clients, and maintaining LR’s high standards of technical assurance.

The role:
- Perform onshore surveys/inspections for structural, piping, and mechanical systems on fixed installations.
- Execute IVB activities including verification of Safety-Critical Elements (SCEs), Performance Standards, and Written Schemes of Verification (WSV).
- Survey Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs) on fixed offshore installations
- Execute inspection activities related to painting, coating condition assessments, corrosion protection systems, and surface preparation compliance.
- Review and assess engineering documentation, drawings, design calculations, and technical reports for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and LR rules.
- Conduct integrity assessments, anomaly evaluations, and follow-up inspections.
- Prepare high quality survey reports, ensuring timely delivery and clear documentation of findings.
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted technical representative of Lloyd’s Register.
- Ensure all activities meet LR quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and as a team, positively engage and support & assist each other as needed.

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of offshore survey or inspection experience (platforms, pipelines, mechanical systems).
- Multi-discipline inspection background (structural + mechanical + piping).
- Demonstrated experience delivering IVB / Verification / SCE assurance for offshore assets.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant offshore industry codes and standards (API, ASME, DNV, ISO, etc.).
- Offshore painting/coating qualification, such as: NACE Coating Inspector with valid certificates. Thorough understanding of corrosion mechanisms, protective coatings, and offshore coating application standards.
- Be conversant in NDE methods and skills. Have valid certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT); Radiographic Testing (RT); Magnetic Particle Testing (MT); Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) at Level 2.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in offshore environments and deliver accurate assessments under tight timelines.
- Clear communication and technical reporting skills.
