We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Asset Management Specialist to provide high-value advisory and technical asset management solutions across the Maritime and Energy sectors. This role is suited to a technically respected professional who can assess complex client challenges where parameters are often undefined, ambiguous, or without established precedent. You will combine specialized technical knowledge with strategic thinking to deliver practical, risk-based, and commercially effective outcomes for clients. The selected individual will also help lead projects, support technical governance, assist with business development, and mentor and develop technical professionals across the Advisory business.

The role

  • Deliver technical assessments, specialist advisory services, and asset management solutions within agreed contractual, commercial, and budgetary parameters.
  • Produce high-quality technical deliverables and reports in accordance with Lloyd’s Register standards and client expectations.
  • Review and provide technical oversight of work completed by other team members as required.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and alternative solutions confidently to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide specialized technical guidance within the defined area of expertise to ensure consistency in interpretation and application across service delivery activities.
  • Maintain and manage technical knowledge within the discipline to support quality and consistency in service delivery.
  • Support technical capability development through coaching, technical reviews, accompanied visits, audits, training, stakeholder feedback, and mentoring activities.
  • Contribute to local business strategies and operational plans, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across business processes and technical delivery practices.
  • Assess and recommend scope, time, and value estimates for client engagements within agreed commercial frameworks.
  • Support commercial and business development functions with technical input, client engagement, and proposal support.
  • Maintain continuous professional development and remain current with emerging industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach technical professionals to support effective knowledge transfer and capability growth.
  • Undertake project management responsibilities where applicable, including monitoring progress, budget performance, resource allocation, and contractual compliance.
  • Complete administrative activities in accordance with current systems, processes, and governance requirements.

 

What you bring

  • Degree qualification or equivalent from a tertiary institution recognised by Lloyd’s Register in Engineering or Physical Science (minimum three-year programme).
  • Membership of a recognised professional institution; progress toward Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a senior technical specialist or technical leader within an Asset Management environment.
  • Solid understanding of asset integrity, reliability, maintenance, and risk-based service delivery methodologies.
  • Extensive experience within the Maritime and Energy sectors, with demonstrated capability in Reliability, Maintenance, and Integrity advisory service delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication abilities, paired with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Project management experience as well as a Functional Safety qualification.
  • Experience using MAROS software, and familiarity with CMMS and IMDS platforms and asset information systems.
