The objective of the Technology Qualification process is to facilitate a novel technology or innovative elements within mature technologies achieve certification. This is conducted by adopting a robust evidence-based methodology through a systematic process, as illustrated below.

Stage 01:Technology Verification
- Review against the Definition of the technology
- Interface analysis with other technologies
- Review of test results in the field environment
- Review of field documentation related to installation, commissioning, and operations
- Review of training documentation, if applicable
Stage 02:Technology Validation
- Identification of qualification activities and tests required
- Development of a Technology Qualification Plan (TQP)
- Review of the TQP
- Issuance of a Statement of Feasibility
- Execution of qualification activities identified in the TQP
- Submission and review of test results
- Review of test results
Stage 03: Performance Review
- Review against the Definition of the technology
- Interface analysis with other technologies
- Review of test results in the field environment
- Review of field documentation related to installation, commissioning, and operations
- Review of training documentation, if applicable
