The objective of the Technology Qualification process is to facilitate a novel technology or innovative elements within mature technologies achieve certification. This is conducted by adopting a robust evidence-based methodology through a systematic process, as illustrated below.

Stage 01:Technology Verification
  • Review against the Definition of the technology
  • Interface analysis with other technologies
  • Review of test results in the field environment
  • Review of field documentation related to installation, commissioning, and operations
  • Review of training documentation, if applicable
Stage 02:Technology Validation
  • Identification of qualification activities and tests required
  • Development of a Technology Qualification Plan (TQP)
  • Review of the TQP
  • Issuance of a Statement of Feasibility
  • Execution of qualification activities identified in the TQP
  • Submission and review of test results
  • Review of test results
Stage 03: Performance Review
  • Review against the Definition of the technology
