The US indefinitely suspended plans for tariffs on Mexican imports after the two countries reached a deal in which Mexico committed to reducing the movement of Central American migrants to the US.

President Trump had previously threatened to impose a 5 percent tariff on all Mexican imports if Mexico failed to reduce the number people passing through it to reach the US.
