Amendments to the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) Manual.

Applicability: shipowners, ship operators, ship managers and ship masters.
Amendments to the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) Manual will come into effect on 1 June 2022.
The amendments are detailed in IMO circular MSC.1/Circ.1640.
The amendments mostly address developments related to the modernisation of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), including the introduction of IMO recognised mobile satellite service providers other than Inmarsat. These amendments will be included in the 2022 edition of the Manual.
SOLAS regulation V/21 requires all ships to carry an up-to-date copy of IAMSAR Manual Volume III.
