Richard McLoughlin

Richard was born in Newcastle upon-Tyne, and is a graduate from the same university. Having obtained his Master’s degree in Marine Technology, he has been employed by Lloyd’s Register as marine surveyor since 1999. With 17 years’ field experience of classification & statutory survey/consultancy work covering ship new construction and in-service delivery he has worked in various parts of the marine business. Previously a Marine Country Manager and Chief Country Representative, he has been responsible for business development, office operations, finance and in-service delivery.

Richard has also delivered client management activities with further liaison responsibilities to flag administration and governmental departments. He has delivered new building project management roles for various ship types including product oil tankers & offshore patrol vessels. As an ISM/ISPS auditor he has delivered ship board and office based audits and as a marine trainer has delivered internal and external training. Currently working within the innovation sales and marketing department at Lloyd’s Register he is based at the Southampton global technology centre and delivers portfolio management for the in-life service portfolio.
