Notes to support the use of the Guidance for Engine Conversions
Engine conversions that change the fuel (liquid, gaseous, dual fuel) from that for which the engine was originally type approved, will change the engine type defining parameters as per Ch 1, 1.3 Definition of engine type 1.3.1 (e) of LR’s Type Approval System – Test Specification Number 4, Type Testing of Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines and Associated Ancillary Equipment. Accordingly, a repeat of the type test, or an appropriate integration test, will need to be undertaken.
