This document outlines Lloyd’s Register’s Recommended Practice (RP) to meet the technical requirements for the certification of offshore wind service platforms according to IECRE-OD-502, IEC 61400-22 and other similar project certification schemes.

The assets covered within the scope of this RP include offshore wind service platforms, the topsides safety and environmental critical systems and equipment, high voltage systems, topsides structure, and jacket support structure and foundations. Offshore wind service platforms can be required for different purposes including as a substation, transformer/converter, accommodation, reactive compensation or other purposes such as bird nesting remote from the wind farm location.

This RP is intended to provide good practice for the entire lifecycle of offshore wind service platforms and key aspects addressed relate to the safety, integrity, insurability and bankability in the context of offshore wind service platform design.
