But what are the outcomes of COP26 for shipping? Were the industry’s ambitions and objectives for the 12-day event achieved? And what are the next steps for the industry?
This Lloyd's Register and Maritime London webinar, moderated by Jos Standerwick, Chief Executive of Maritime London, will assess the impact of COP26 outcomes ahead of MEPC77, the efficacy of shipping to lobby policymakers and what is likely to happen next.

Jos Standerwick is the Chief Executive of Maritime London, the trade association responsible for maintaining and growing the UK’s position as the world’s leading provider of maritime professional services.
In addition to Jos’s responsibilities as CE of Maritime London, he sits on the UK government’s Clean Maritime Council, the Department for International Trade’s Expert Trade Advisory Group for Services, the National Council of Maritime UK, the London International Shipping Week (LISW) Steering Group and chairs the LISW Conference Working Group and is also a trustee of the Maritime London Officer Cadetship Programme.
Jos is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce and a member of international affairs policy institute Chatham House.
Jonathan Beard, Partner, Infrastructure Advisory - Strategy & Transactions Asia-Pacific Platform, EY
Dr Jonathan Beard is a Partner in EY’s Infrastructure Advisory Team with more than 20 years’ consultancy experience in the transport and logistics sector covering: strategic planning; forecasting; mergers and acquisitions; public-private partnerships; competition and regulation.
His work has spanned projects in over 25 countries, advising major ports, airports, national and local governments and related authorities, sovereign wealth funds, multinational development banks and overseas aid agencies.
Charles Haskell, Decarbonisation Programme Manager, Lloyd's Register
Charles Haskell is Lloyd’s Register’s Decarbonisaton Programme Manager, and leads the LR Maritime Decarbonisation Hub.
Charles joined LR in 2001 and worked in various ship repair and new construction yards in UK, France and Poland before working in South Korea on a number of projects for container ships, tankers, and LNG carriers.
Following this he moved to the Middle East, conducting audits and in-service surveys. He then transitioned into client management and led the Middle East and Africa business development team before returning to the United Kingdom and resuming a similar role.
During this time he has worked with several clients on zero-emission projects that spurred his passion to work more on helping shipping achieve the IMO 2050 ambitions. Charles then returned to the UK as a business development manager for LR’s Marine and Offshore businesses.
Julian Proctor, CEO, Purus Marine
Julian Proctor is Chief Executive Officer of Purus Marine, a maritime holding company that owns environmentally-advanced vessels and infrastructure equipment, contracted long-term to high quality end users. He has 25 years of experience in the transportation industry.
Before joining Purus Marine, Julian was Chief Investment Officer at Tiger Group, a large ship owner based in Hong Kong and Tokyo, with over 190 vessels. Julian was a board member, observer or executive of the various subsidiary ship-owners of Tiger Group. Prior to that, he was Chief Strategy Officer of BNP Paribas Fortis Asia Pacific, reporting directly to the CEO and was a member of the regional board. He holds an M.St. from the University of Cambridge, where he was the recipient of the Oxford University Press Bryman and Bell Prize.
Helen Tveitan de Jong, Chairman & CEO, Carisbrooke Shipping Holdings Ltd
Helen Tveitan de Jong is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carisbrooke Shipping Holdings Ltd, a specialist owner operator of mini-bulk and project cargo ships controlling a fleet of 32 ships. She is also a board director of Armore Shipping.
Previously, Helen held a variety of senior ship finance roles, including as a founding partner at shipping finance advisory firm THG Capital from 2001 to 2007, and has held several positions as interim Finance Director for shipping companies, most notably in the dry bulk sector, from 2003 to 2017. She graduated with a DRS in Economics from Rotterdam's Erasmus University.
