This three-day course provides an overview of the life cycle management (LCM) activities associated with design, construction and operation and maintenance of floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.

Overview

It will include a review of fitness-for-service assessments, risk based inspection requirements, statutory and class requirements and repair methods.

The target audience includes engineers that are new to the life cycle management (LCM) process. A structural engineering background is helpful, but is not a prerequisite for this course. This course will equip engineers with the basic tools necessary to assume LCM-related responsibilities. Upon completion of the course, it is expected that the delegates will have a basic level competency in lifecycle management of FPSOs and other floating assets.

The course is structured with a mixture of knowledge delivery through presentations, class discussions, and exercises including case studies, role playing, debates and cost studies. The course provides ample opportunities to apply the methodologies and techniques discussed to real-life case studies. The case studies give the candidates an opportunity to work through the specific details of real-world problems under the supervision of experienced engineers.

This course provides delegates with opportunities to gain knowledge and practice tools for cost effectively managing risks to FPSO hull structures.
