Who should attend?

This course is of value to everyone whose duties involve matters of safety, maintenance and quality aspects and for the operations of ships, as well as other marine industry stakeholders. Attendees should be ship managers, personnel/crew managers, technical superintendents, designated persons, masters and ships officers.

Key content

Through a highly participative combination of presentations, group discussions, case studies plus individual and syndicate exercises, the course covers the following topics:

  • discussion on the content of the convention and its implementation onboard

  • how to conduct a review of the DMLC (Part I and Part II) in relation to the MLC, 2006 requirements

  • introduction to dealing with seafarers complaints

  • practical guidance on how to undertake an inspection relating to maritime labour issues

  • preparing for an MLC, 2006 inspection
