A remote survey is a survey that is undertaken without the Surveyor being directly in attendance e.g. not being onboard an asset or visiting an office or manufacturing site. Instead the Surveyor is remote and undertakes their survey by employing remote technique tools, so your assets can be surveyed efficiently and securely, maximising your profitability and minimising operational downtime.

During 2020 we have grown our remote survey offering to support our customers and now, 1 in 3 of the 30,000 surveys we perform each year is completed without attendance. 

LR has been utilising remote techniques for many years, but now our Remote Survey Leads are accessing a broader variety of data sources, working with clients via the LR Remote App and other new technologies, and making their engineering decisions and recommendations, without physically attending an asset.

LR has positioned a global team of Remote Survey Leads (RSL) to support the use of remote surveys on ships and floating offshore assets.
