Our largest plan approval offices in China, Korea, and Japan ensure strong local competence and safeguard your interests. Between 2019 and 2021, we completed 74 joint development projects with designers and shipyards in China, focusing on energy efficiency, LNG as fuel, ammonia and methanol as fuel, and cybersecurity. Notably, 65% of these projects have already been adopted in new buildings, including the world's first Flettner Rotor wind-assisted bulk carrier vessel.
Proven Results
Our classification services support to over 350 bulk carrier ship ship owners globally, providing a wide range of value-adding services in practice. We developed the first bulk carrier design with LNG as fuel in China in collaboration with a major shipyard. Since then, many LNG-as-fuel designs have received Lloyd's Register Approvals in Principle (AiPs), with an estimated energy efficiency improvement of over 10%.
