With the implementation of the FuelEU Maritime initiative, the EU aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the maritime sector by promoting the use of sustainable alternative fuels. This regulation works in tandem with the EU ETS to achieve the EU's ambitious climate targets, including a 55% reduction in emissions by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050.
