Why LR Naval? 

Over the last 30 years, more than 400 naval vessels have been built to LR Class, including 190 built to LR's Naval Ship Rules, spanning 19 navies. More than 100 vessels are currently maintained in Class across 13 navies, including the Royal Navy, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Canadian Navy. 

LR Naval was the first classification society to publish dedicated Naval Ship Rules, refined continuously over 25 years. As a founding member and Secretariat of the International Naval Safety Association (INSA), we actively shape the standards the industry operates to. That long history of standard-setting informs not only established programmes, but also the emerging assurance frameworks being developed for autonomous systems and hybrid fleet operations.
