BWM.2/Circ.80/Rev.1

Further to Class News 04/2024, this circular has been updated to include guidance on recording operational scenarios related to challenging water quality conditions in the Ballast Water Record Book, in line with the “Interim guidance on the application of the BWM Convention to ships operating in challenging water quality conditions” (Resolution MEPC.387(81)).

BWM.2/Circ.43/Rev.2

This circular has been updated to provide guidance on the type approval process for modifications (major or minor) to an existing type approved ballast water management system (BWMS) that are proposed by a manufacturer.

BWM.2/Circ.34/Rev.13

This is the latest publication of the annual IMO list of BWMS that make use of Active Substances which have either Basic Approval or Final Approval.

What should shipowners and ship operators do now?

Shipowners, ship operators and BWMS manufacturers are advised to familiarise themselves with the new guidance.
