Lloyd’s Register (LR) has appointed two senior leaders to support its naval growth in Southeast Asia and beyond.  Based in LR’s Singapore office, Dipali Kuchekar and Jerome Lim will lead the naval autonomous systems (UxV) business and naval commercial strategy and sales functions, respectively.

Dipali will work closely with Jerome to support the Southeast Asian market while also driving LR’s global UxV business at a pivotal time, as navies increasingly adopt hybrid fleet models combining crewed and uncrewed vessels.

Dipali is a strategic maritime and technology leader with more than 20 years' global experience across the maritime, offshore, naval and port infrastructure sectors. She combines deep technical expertise with commercial leadership, market development, stakeholder engagement and the strategic adoption of emerging technologies.

Dipali said: “I'm excited to bring my experience working across global markets and emerging technologies to this role. My focus will be on building strong customer relationships, identifying new opportunities for collaboration, and helping clients navigate change with confidence while delivering practical, long-term value.”

Jerome is a chartered marine engineer with more than 20 years’ experience across naval operations, commercial shipping, classification, ship management and maritime business development. After completing his MBA in 2025, he brings a strong combination of technical, business and management expertise. He continues to serve in the Naval Reserves as Senior Officer and is still actively engaged with developments in naval operations, engineering and defence capabilities.

Jerome said: “What I'm looking forward to most is working even more closely with customers and colleagues across the region to support their ambitions. The naval industry is evolving rapidly, and it's an exciting time to help shape solutions that enable safer, smarter and more sustainable operations.”

The team will engage naval and defence communities in the region, delivering workshops, professional training programmes and face-to-face meetings, helping clients stay informed on the latest developments and LR’s naval sector capabilities.
