Dutch builder Oceanco is about to deliver the industry’s first full Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) compliant superyacht.
The yacht, Y709 measuring 91.5 meters in length with a 14.6-metre beam, is a Lloyd’s Register-classed yacht boasting a breathtakingly beautiful interior by renowned designer Andrew Winch.
Oceanco CEO, Marcel Onkenhout, remarked: “Despite a steep learning curve with the implementation of the new Passenger Yacht Code—working together with Lloyd's Register— we managed to design, develop, engineer and build a magnificent explorer yacht, which will undoubtedly set new standards in the yacht industry.”
Y709 provides luxury accommodation for 22 guests in 11 staterooms including a magnificent master suite. However, in addition to the master suite, two VIP suites and four guest cabins, 26 guests can be accommodated by easily converting the owner's library and study into separate VIP cabins. Other special features of this yacht include a dedicated hospital, and extensive spa and beach club.
Y709 has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and runs with twin 4,828hp/3,600kW MTU 20V 4000 M73L engines that enable her to reach a top speed of 19.5 knots.
