This pride month, Lloyd’s Register is hosting a hybrid in-person and virtual event that brings together maritime leaders, advocates, and people with lived experience to dicuss the lives and data behind LGBT+ professionals at sea.
Event details
📅 Date: Thursday, 18 June 2026
⏱️ Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm BST
💡 Format: Hybrid - Virtual and In-person
📍 Location: Lloyd’s Register, 71 Fenchurch St, London EC3M 4BS, or join online
👥 Networking: 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm BST for in-person attendees
This session will move beyond awareness and ask the questions that matter:
- Are we hearing the real experiences of LGBT+ people in the maritime sector?
- What do the stories and data tell us about LGBT+ people's lives at sea?
- How does workplace culture influence safety, well-being, and team performance?
- What practical action can organisations and individuals take across a truly global sector?
You will hear from industry voices, including:
- Gustavo Aguilar-Miranda - I Exist Too
- Heidi Heseltine - Diversity Study Group
- Lee Clarke - Isle of Man Maritime
- Harpa Stefánsdóttir - Global Maritime Forum
- Christopher Perry - Lloyd’s Register
Following the panel discussion, in-person attendees are invited to stay for networking with Lloyd’s Register colleagues and industry peers. Whether you work at sea, ashore, in leadership, HR, operations, technical roles or as an ally, this is an opportunity to listen, reflect and consider how we can help build a safer and more inclusive maritime industry for everyone.
