Applicability: Shipowners, ship operators, ship managers, shipbuilders.
Introduction
The Portugal (MAR) flag requires SEEMP Part III Company Audits and, in certain cases, additional verification and Shipboard Verification activities for vessels subject to IMO CII requirements.
If a required Company Audit or Shipboard Verification was not completed during 2024 or 2025, the outstanding activities should be completed by 30 November 2026 to satisfy the once-in-three-years requirement.
Additional requirements based on CII rating

Vessel rated D for three consecutive years |
Additional verification is required to confirm that a corrective action plan has been established. A Company Audit should take place during the third year and no later than 30 November.

Vessel rated E |
Additional verification is required to confirm that a corrective action plan has been established. A Company Audit and a Shipboard Audit should take place in the year immediately following the E rating and no later than 30 November.
