Shipbuilding Summary

Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd., established in 1992 and located in Panyu, Guangzhou, China, is one of the country’s most advanced and largest-scale
manufacturers of aluminium alloy vessels. The shipyard specialises in the construction of high-value, high-technology aluminium ships for both domestic and
international markets.

Afai Southern Shipyard operates two main shipbuilding workshops, each 90m long and 42m wide, containing six slipways of 170m in length. In addition, there are three subsection assembly halls measuring 60m long and 21m wide each, and a movable shed workshop of 100m in length and 40m in width. The shipyard also features a dedicated 90m-long outfitting dock specifically for aluminium vessels.

The yard is equipped with more than 150 TIG and MIG aluminium welding machines and has the capacity to construct aluminium alloy vessels up to 120m in length. Afai Southern has successfully delivered numerous high-tech, high-value projects, including luxury fast ferries, Ro- Pax ferries, sightseeing boats, rescue vessels, and small yachts.  These vessels have been delivered to clients both in China and abroad, including Singapore, Turkey, Dubai, Canada, and South Korea.

In recent years, the company has built a wide range of aluminium alloy catamaran vessels, including coastal fast rescue vessels, 85m Ro-Pax ferries, 32m city sightseeing vessels, 35m inland luxury public service vessels, and coastal fast ferries ranging from 34m / 188 passengers to 42m / 448 passengers.

To support its long-term strategy, the company focuses on producing 15m–60m superyachts and, in 2012, established a ship design company in the Netherlands to ensure close integration with European design standards and to advance capabilities in the design and construction of premium aluminium alloy yachts.

Afai Southern Shipyard continues to expand its international footprint and remains committed to innovation, quality, and the development of world-class aluminium vessels.
