Shipbuilding Summary

In March, 2004, Shanghai Dingheng Ship Industry Corporation was founded with RMB 80 Million registered capital. It operates in two main business segments: marine transportation of liquid chemical products and construction of chemical tankers and LPG carriers. Dingheng (Jiangsu) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd is one of the corporation’s 3 whollyowned subsidiaries, with RMB 300 million registered capital,
which was established in February, 2006.

In July 2010, AVIC International Shanghai Company acquired a 60% stake in Dingheng (Jiangsu) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., thereby becoming the controlling shareholder. From March 2011, Dingheng (Jiangsu) was renamed AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

The shipyard is located at the centre of Jiangsu Province, nearly three hours’ drive from Shanghai. It has a 600-meter coastline, 2 dry docks, and 2 berths.

As of September, 2013, AVIC Dingheng has around 295 employees, including 7 senior managers and 29 middle-management staff; more than 72% of the managerial staff hold a college degree or higher. Its leaders and management team members come from well-known Chinese shipyards, including Kouan Shipyard, Jinling Shipyard, Yangzijiang Shipyard, Hudong Shipyard and Jiangnan Shipyard, etc. There are around 813 subcontractor workers working in the yard.

The shipyard is designed to build advanced stainless-steel chemical tankers and LPG carriers. Projects now under construction at the shipyard include: 7,000 / 3,600 DWT S.S. chemical tanker, 16,300 / 15,000 / 6,000 DWT D.F. chemical tanker, 7,490 / 7,450 / 7,990 DWT S.S. oil products / chemical tankers, 5,500 / 4,255 / 5,000m³ LPG carrier.
