Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (KASC) includes both the origina Kouan yard and the Yong’an new yard, situated on the north bank of the lower Yangtze River. The site offers 2,000 metres of riverside shoreline and 1,000 metres of inland deep-water shoreline.
The shipyard is close to Gao Gang Harbour, a first-class port, and is well connected by road and rail, near the Ning-Tong Expressway, Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge, and Yanjiang Expressway. It also lies just 25 kilometres from Taizhou Railway Station on the Ningqi Line and Jiangdu Airport, making both water and inland transport easily accessible.
KASC spans 1.3 million square metres and holds fixed assets worth RMB 3 billion. It is recognised as one of the top 10 private shipbuilding enterprises in China, with an annual output of over one million DWT. The Yong’an yard features one 200,000 DWT dry dock, an 800-metre outfitting quay.
The original Kouan yard includes three slipways, a 1,000-metre outfitting quay, a 600-tonne gantry crane – the largest in the yard. KASC serves both international and domestic clients, specialising in small container ships, bulk carriers and multi-purpose vessels (MPVs).
