reputation and now boasts the fourth-largest order book by gross tonnage in the world.
Design facilities
Hyundai operates extenies into noise, vibration, and innovative construction methods. The design offices take basic ship designs from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and develops them into detailed, production-ready plans for newbuild projects.
Construction facilities
The Hyundai Samho yard opened in 1995 and has a high proportion of automated equipment. Covering 3.3m m², the facility is located in Mokpo on the south-west tip of Korea and has a stated annual capacity of 1.5m GT. Dock No. 1 has a maximum shipbuilding capacity of 1m DWT, while Dock No.2 has a maximum capacity of 500,000 DWT.
