Tightening regulations, such as FuelEU, require shipping to transition to lower-carbon and synthetic fuels or face penalties. LR Fuel Advisory Services (FOBAS) has supported ship operators for over 40 years and is well-positioned to advise on new drop-in fuels and the transition to these fuels. 

FOBAS offers a comprehensive testing programme, support with operational risk assessment, regulatory compliance, stakeholder communications, training, and fuel management onboard, as well as active engagement with industry organisations such as ISO, CIMAC, IMarEST, and Intertanko.

• FOBAS has produced numerous studies to measure NOx emissions as per MARPOL Annex VI NOx technical code for ships using biofuels since IMO 2020.
